I second this. I have been using e16 on and off for a number of years,
and I'm really excited about the new e17 finally coming about.
I must say I'm impressed by the quality of this development code, I
haven't been able to crash e17 a single time, despite using it
extensively the last few wee
It leaks really badly, and no one ever fixed it(though some tried). Try

I'll favor "look good" over "physically correct" in this case :)
The code removal as suggested doesn't fix the problem entirely, as you
may have seen, but can speed up shadow image calculations if the region
isn't used anyway.
The proper fix involves properly repainting the window stack taking into
The changes look about right.
Could you please send a regular patch? That would make it *quite*
a bit easier for me :)
Just do something like
/e16/e$ cvs -z3 dif -u > remember-shadow.patch
and send me remember-shadow.patch as an attachment.
The noshadow option could be added to the WINOPS_MENU in

Hi,
Are there any debian packages for recent releases of E16 available? The
official maintainer seems not to have touched the software since August
last year, so the version in Sarge and Sid is pretty old. Woody's is
even more anciant, but that's to be expected. With the release of Sarge
