Hi, I'm pretty new to linux, have never coded a line in C (I hope to some day, but I'm a web developer for now), and no only a little about how e works, so I am in no position to do this myself. However, the other day I got an idea for an e moudule that could be really cool.
The idea would be to have boxes, just above the desktop, that could contain stuff. 1) it could be pointed at a folder (say ~/Desktop if you want a destop like apearance) 2) a web page (this would reqire setting up something to display the page, I don't know how easy this would be) 3) a program (instead of running in a window, it would be on the 'desktop'), I don't know how useful that would be, but it shouldn't be hard to implement, and it may solve how to do #2 (i.e. run firefox w/o the chrome) and mabye even #1 (using evidence) The boxes could also be styled (backgrounds, border, etc. ) or just left transparent. Anybody else like this idea? I think it would be a great way to use widgets and such because (X)HTML/javascript/CSS is really easy to learn, plus it would create a simple way to have a desktop if you want one, or a list of your music files, etc. Alan Trick ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the 'Do More With Dual!' webinar happening July 14 at 8am PDT/11am EDT.
