I'm running 16.8.2 on FreeBSD 6.2 having installed from the FreeBSD "ports"
system.
I was previously running a version prior to 16.8.2 which I compiled myself
on FreeBSD 4.11 (I'm afraid I've blown away the exact setup at this point).

Gonna try and re-compile all dr17 parts, make sure xinerama is enabled
in all etc.
Maybe I missed something in the initial compile (xinerama as added
afterwards)
