Yes, that thought has crossed my mind before, and it would be a more
elegant solution. Unfortunately my relevant programming skills are nil
(Java only), and I don't have the time or inclination to do anything

Personally, Id like to see it become a module. I would think that you
could make it load and use the background container to update the
images. This would make for easier integration and more instantly
configurable options. Not all modules are just desktop gadgets, so im
