I found the same thread and thats exactly what the problem was. I didn't
have the fontconfig development libraries installed. If you're running
Ubuntu, simply type: sudo apt-get install fontconfig, then rebuild Evas
and you should be all set.

I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 8.10 on a new machine, as well as E17
using easy_e17.sh Everything compiled and installed perfectly. The
problem is that when I log into E17, there aren't any letters on in the
