yes I've checked my E compile options and PAM is definitely enabled for
me.
The strange thing is, that it worked a long time and then after updating
to the newest SVN release sometimes it works, sometimes not. The change
is always after recompiling, it doesn't seem runtime related.

even when i really don understand why a forecast module can have
anything to do with pam or desklock, no, i don't have it enabledi

first rule here is to always blame the forecast module.
maybe it's got something to do with that encryptfs ?

I'm not blaming, just reporting that it was the case with me and friends.

I have the forecast module activated right now, but I also had the
problem before the forecast module was activated.
I will do a short test, and see if I can report any connection between
them...
