The backlight stuff should work, but do you know about f.lux or redshift? Those apps take care of gradually adjusting screen brightness according to day/night time. If by 'ambient light' you mean outside / inside or dark room / light room, they won't help of course. On Tue, May 1, 2012 at 10:36 AM
