I'm trying not to go overboard in avoiding systemd but it is insidious. It looks like at least efl has a req on pulseaudio which has a req on libsystemd. Not systemd itself though. I prefer the sysvinit because I want to use encrypted devices (via luks) for zfs and that doesn't work with system
