I have been attempting to configure engage with the help of a mass of
confusing documentation on the Net. Along the way, I have made some
notes. Although they are not well organized, perhaps they will make
enough sense that someone can help clarify various issues.

For a few weeks I have been stuck trying to update e17 with the script
"e17update.sh". One of my systems seems to have been updating ok (an
AMD64 dual opteron box), while my x86 machine is not able to compile
e.

I have installed itask-ng. Found an unofficial gentoo ebuild on
bugs.gentoo.org, installed the cvs version, and it's working REALLY nicely.

an icon for alsamixergui, for example, e17 up when I have browsed and
selected an i

an icon of a bookmark, but not drop it.
