At the moment, shelves that are set to be below everything won't
work properly with auto hiding. For non transparent shelves you
can have them set to below windows or above everything, and
auto hiding will work.

You can't just use ETK on GTK applications, you have to rewrite them, and
that's no easy task.
If you want gtk apps to match your E theme, find a gtk theme that matches
as closely as possible, and use it. Google for gtkrc, there are some programs
to set it accordingly if you don't want to do it man
