Recently I've seen that if I assign a quick access key to a window then
"strange things" happens.
I.e. I assign F12 key as quick access for terminology. Works like a
charm but if I then open Firefox the development tools are constantly
Personally I like it a lot. It's subtle enough to not be disturbing and at a
same time gives good visual feedback. Option to disable or not... well,
everybody likes candy but I don't think it's mandatory to have.

I use connman, with econnman. The advantadge is that it feets nicely with the
desktop and also lets you manage bluetooth. Also has a lot of features that I
never need.
Simply remove econnman from your loaded modules and the popup will be gone.
