this is due to me changing back-ends of fm2 to fix latency/lockups with slow
fs's. i had to remove support for "other source" dirs. also dnd is broken.
basically efreet is going to fix this for app menus etc.

applications" is clicked and and not responding to dragging items across the
widows to make a customised menu.

that's not the only dir searched for .desktop files, at least
/usr/local/share/applications comes to mind, and maybe there could
be others depending from the specific system.
