Hi, I just wanted to chime in on this subject;

The internet anonymizes its users, making them prone to post things they
don't truly stand behind. As a result of this, everybody ought to take
internet postings with a grain of salt -or sugar- and read past any bile
that might seem to lay beneath..

I'm Norwegian, and our language isn't quite as refined when it comes to
pleasantries.. We don't normally use "please" and "thank you" in every
other sentence, which can make us seem rude to others.

Because of my technical nature, I often value brevity and accuracy over
pleasantries - I prefer to write my replies in a short and direct manner
most of the time.

I do however appreciate the finer details of "normal" english, and try
my best to fulfill the expectations of others when I communicate using
it. I may not be perfect in my execution, but it is my second language,
after all.

I'm not sure why I wrote up this rant, and I'm sorry I made you read
through it.. On the bright side, I don't post that often ;)

Given Jacks' followups to your posting, I would say it didn't :)
