Hi Jason,
It's a bit outside of the scope of this list, but have you taken a look
at the MSI with a tool like Orca? Perhaps you could generate an .mst
(transform file) that stops the registry action in question?

Hello Mark,
I believe you can disable this functionality by setting the environment
variable "MOZ_LEGACY_PROFILES" in the operating system. As I
understand it, by having this value present (set to anything?) Firefox
will not create a new profile for new Firefox version.

May I be the first (and hopefully not only!) to say "please don't
require a machine to be domain-joined". We've attempted to manage
Chrome a few times, but since our machines are not Domain-joined many of
the policies options are ignored, making it just about impossible to
manage Chrome. Ple
Hi Sylvestre,
Any chance the ESR patch in this bug:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1408631 will make it into
52.5.2 ?
I'm seeing cases of repeated crashing matching the same signatures in
that bug.
Thanks,
Joel

Hi everyone,
We've been experiencing an increase in reports of issues with Firefox
lately and I'm wondering if I'm not alone.
I'm getting reports (randomly) for these issues:
-_Firefox freezes_ with spinning mouse wheel indicator. Program goes
not responding for a few seconds, and then resumes.
Hi Robert,
Are you using:
DesktopShortcut=false
in your .ini per https://wiki.mozilla.org/Installer:Command_Line_Arguments ?

Hi Marc,
I have that pref set to "true" and do not see the slow messages, so yes,
I think you have found the right preference.

I use the cck2 to first disable Private Browsing mode, then also lock
this setting:
places.history.enabled = true
Using the cck2 I also set the "Don't allow Firefox to be reset on
about:support" setting (Miscellaneous tab) for other reasons, but I
guess in this case it would help preserve history.
