Newer doesn't always mean better. I have the original Canon 28-70 mk I and
it's a good performer compared to my limited experiences with some newer non-L
lenses.

I have the first version and find the optical quality to be quite good. Focusing is
quick but noisy and not USM. Also the lens barrel retracts into the outer barrel at
certain local lengths making some filters less convenient to use. Compact, solid.
Check for proper funtioning of all components.
I believe Sigma has introduced a digital small sensor only 18-135mm, which
would approximate a 28-200 in 35mm terms. Details are on their website.

I second this request. When shooting film, I found a 28-135 is a great one
lens on the camera when going light was required. Otherwise, I would take a
28-70 and 100-400 is. With the 10D, nothing provides this general use coverage. I
would love a digital only 28-105(135) coverage, at a constant F

The A2 with the 540 EZ uses A-ttl flash system. I find this approach better
than TTL and sometimes better than E-ttl because with faster film, and closer
subjects, the a-ttl programming will pick a smaller aperature, which
increases depth of field. The picture may have more of a flash look than
