I don't have a 5D yet, so I can't say what it is there, but I"m
sure it's
there.
It is a CF on the 5D as well, but my 5D shipped with 1/3 stops
enabled by default. You can chose to change it to 1/2 if you want.

When I'm thinking macro I'm thinking 'out in the field' mostly hiking
around, but I guess I can bring specimens back to
advantage of the 180mm that you get to be a little farther from the
subject?

I know my 1ns are considerably louder then my parent's Elan. The 1ns
have a
sharp high-pitched noise. It's kind of strange that a professional
camera
performs worse then a consumer camera in that regard. Maybe the mirror
