Sorry for this off-topic post but I just wanted to comment on a letter fellow List member and frequent contributor (who I've sure learned a thing or two from) Peter Kotsinadelis sent to Popular Photography concerning a proposed comparison of various manufactures' lens motors in relation to their respective AF speed. The letter appeared in the current September issue and was nicely articulated with a straight forward suggestion that Pop Photo may want to do such a test at some point. The response was something else. I don't know who at Pop Photo answers letters readers send in, but I was certainly taken back by the acrimonious and abrupt reply. And on top of that, it seem to completely miss the thrust of Peter's genuinely good proposal. I know that Pop Photo is clearly not of the caliber a publication such as UK's EOS Magazine is, but this served to further underscore their stature as a magazine of obvious limitations. Peter, your letter and proposal of an interesting AF speed test was right on target, while the reply seemed strangely incongruent.
