I am thinking of buying a zoom lens. I am looking at the 75-300 IS and the 70-200 L F4. I like the idea of having IS and an extra 100mm. And I also like the fact that it is about $415 for the IS lens as opposed to $579 for the L lens. I am interesting in using it for travel photography mostly,

I am considering this lens for a walkaround with no tripod lens, such as the zoo etc. I currently have a Canon 70-210/3.5-4.5 USM which I think takes real nice pictures. Will I be disappointed in the sharpness, etc with the 70-300IS? Does the IS slow things down as far as focusing speed? Thanks
