I had a chance to check out the Seybold San Francisco
conference briefly today.
The first thing is that the conference was very quiet--perhaps 1/3 to
1/2 fewer exhibitors, and maybe 1/2 the usual attendees.
I expected to see the EOS 1D at the Canon booth. I did--in the
form of a slick brochure. They didn't even have 1 copy of the real
thing--a shock, since the editor of the digitial photo review was able
to get his hands on one. The Canon guys (all the staff at the photo
part of the Canon booth were guys) didn't seem too helpful either,
so without pushing people out of the way i really couldn't get any
info. They did have a 70-200L IS on display as well several other
lenses, but again, they didn't seem interested in letting anyone
look and see.
I guess it's better than Nikon or Olympus, who didn't show at all.
