Have you tried VueScan? You can get a demo for free to try then the full version is only $40. Both Windoze and Mac compatiable. Scanning with the Nikon 4000ED and the Nikon software was painfully slow, Vuescan cut the time per scan by more than half! Look at http://www.hamrick.com/ -- Harriso

Hi Mike I got the FS4000 three weeks ago. I'm overall satisfied about the results. I scan maily slides which came really great. I'm not using Canon's Filmget for adjusting colours and tone because it has a really bad interface. It is not very fast scanning but I don't need a high production. Fare
