Actually that's backwards. XFree86 4.x was the default in 2.9 and is
also the default in 3.0. 3.3.6 was still an option in 2.9, but I
haven't looked to see if it is still in 3.
The CD cover for 2.9 said 3.3.6, but I think it was printed before 4.x
went in.

AFAIK, the same video hardware that is compatible with XFree86 under
Linux is compatible under OpenBSD.
