If I go the hp jetdirect route, it looks like the 300x is the model
I would get. Here are the specs:

I checked around, and the jetdirect 300x sells for around $250 plus
shipping. Here are two suppliers
I was Bob's post about Eclipse and wanted to chime in. Can you add me?
Is this an appropriate way to be using the weblog?

Almost any of the print servers will work now a days and you are looking at about
$100.00 or less new and used
To use Linux as the print server with a Windoze 9x workstation, you will need to
setup Samba or Mars_NWE. They are both pretty easy when it's just simple file and
print sharing. With som

Dear Right On Your Money,
You have a big office/building/space, woot. Why are you using IEEE
1284 at all? Does an organization with that much floor space have so
many made-for-the-desktop printers and not enough made-for-network
printers? (These are rhetorical; I don't assume that any o

It will support jetdirect printing on port 9100 or standard lpd printing
on port 515. The latter is what you'd use for standard unix or windows nt
printing. Get one off of ebay for $100 or so.

Confused: isn't the linux workstation the ideal network printserver?
Why would you buy something else, unless you didn't want to rely on the
workstation for that purpose, of course... ?
I use a HP LaserJet 4050N here at the office, and am lucky 'cuz it is
network-connected with its own ether. So
use a jetdirect.

Does anyone have experience running an HP DeskJet off
a network printserver device from a Linux workstation?
I'm wondering if it works and how well. What brand of
print server would you recommend? Does it need to be
an HP model to work with the DeskJet?
My objective is to be able to print from
