try running startx in a screen. you can then reconnect with screen -x in an
xterm.

I've seen the info around but not up to hunting it down right
now. So, here we go.. is there something simple I can add to my
.xinitrc or another file to tell X to dump it's output to a
terminal (xterm, eterm, whatever) on the desktop? This way if a
game or program crashes out I won't have to switc

-Crater Lake: not exactly local but you gotta go at least once. it's
amazing! if you hike down the trail to the lake you can take the boat
ride which i highly recommend they take you out to wizard island it's
