Yeah, like what ed said. This list is really for anything linux related, job
postings, stuff for sale, commercial interests, polls, whatever... If its
linux/eugene oriented, then probably most of us would like to hear about it.

what im doing (albeit inconvenient...). I am no fugitive, nor have I hid out.
I was away for a year or so, but that was because of family stuff.

Ive seen a few simular products lately, one was a dell, the other a
balance(walmart). they have about the same specs... If your willing to spend
$700-800, you might want to wait for an averatec to come on sale (every few
months I see a killer deal on nice thin/light averatec laptop.)

So, as far as installing from dvds... DVD's are real nice to install from
because you can put a lot of stuff on a computer w/out attending it. its
fairly fast to install a lot of software.
Mplayer (kmplayer/gmplayer)is a pretty good multimedia player, but if you
*only* play dvd movies, then ogl

I have a 366 cel that ran at 550 (150%) for over 4 years. its not turned on
right now (not for about a year), but it still works fine. It overclocks real
easy, and doesnt even use special cooling. Some CPU's will overclock real
good, some really badly.

I forgot to mention in previous posts...
overclocking that cpu may require cutting a trace on the cpu. Its been a long
time since those were new, and overclocked, but I recal something about
cutting a trace to get slot 1 cpu's to overclock.
