Maybe you could just gzip it to buy yourself some space, and see if Mail
will regenerate the base file from scratch (which I think it will).
That way if it DOESN'T regen the file, you at least haven't lost anything...

Overcoming a forgotten root pw is usually pretty straightforward... I've
only had to do it once but it was easy. Basically boot into single user mode
w/ a Live CD of some sort, edit a file, reboot.

Thinking of a switch, or at least an alternative to Comcast. Not that
