I want to propose two keynote speakers for EuroPython this year. Let me
know what you think of this.
The first is Karl Fogel, author of the Red Bean book on Subversion. His
web site and weblog is at http://rants.org/
Karl's current passion is copyright reform, so I propose inviting him to
give
if you have
questions or comments, or you're wondering whether you should subscribe.

Hi Luuk,
This is Steve Alexander, a member of the EuroPython board.
Thanks for your interest in sponsoring EuroPython. I'm curious as to
why you want to consider sponsoring this conference. It's important
that our sponsors have some kind of link with the Python programming
langua

content and perspective on the recent past and future of Python
development. So this year, we'd like to have two other perspectives as
keynotes at the conference.
Welcome to EuroPython as a keynote speaker!

People make money using Python in all of the above areas.

cracy, so we can bend the rules if it leads to stuff
getting done.
I'm sure the PyCon organisers will allow us to use a room for a
EuroPython meeting if people will be there. I'll be at PyCon, so
available for discussions of EuroPython.

My thanks to everyone who participated in the discussion, and thanks to
POV for agreeing to organise the next conference.
Next steps? Someone should update the website with the dates. Is there
anywhere else we should publicise the dates?

SA and Richard Jones from Australia,
both of whom spoke at the last EuroPython. Jim and Richard, please tell
me if the dates would be bad for you or your country-folk.

I too emailed the CERN Hostel yesterday. No response yet.

I signed up on the site, it looked a lot like I was reserving a room.
Whoever has the list of people who have checked that box should email
them and clear this up. Otherwise, there will be a lot of people coming
to EuroPython, and expecting to stay a

I often abbreviate EuroPython to EP. I think the style EuroPython is
more amenable to that than the style Europython.
But I think the style Europython looks more modern and business-like.
It is probably more web 2.0. The style euroPy
inMoin wiki, with some customized moin style files.
I think a MoinMoin wiki meets the basic needs you outlined above.

I would find it useful, as I can look through my email archive to find
out the details of what I said I'd do, and have a record of important
URLs and such.

I have proposed to give some talks at EuroPython. I want to review what
I said. I cannot find a way to do this.
Is there a way to do this?
Also, the site didn't send me any email confirming what I have proposed.

arger than the Europython logo, and dwarfs it in terms of its visual
impact. There is no discrete "sponsor advertisement" text next to the
banner. The banner is on the same line as the conference logo, whereas
most banner ads are on a line on their
yes, you have. You were also the only one to comment it last time when I
mailed to the EPC board... I was just thinking that more than two votes
in favor (mine included) would be nice ;-)
On the other hand no-one has objected yet...
Am I on the board?
I think it is a good idea.
