Ok, curiosity got to me and I decided to open up my failed Curtis 1231c.
The 8 screws on the bottom were only covered with two little rubber
plugs (no potting compound) which is different from what I'd read about
online. I removed them.
I then used a razer to cut all around the "front panel"

service manual they say to use "a scan tool" with no mention of what's
needed to read the CAN bus. They show in the shop manual individu
We have several running that has been developed by our associates. It is
not a easy task and has taken years to accomplish. Can do for others at a
cost of ???.
