It's not impossible, those are your words. Difficult, yes because of the
unreliable non-Tesla network, and not just because you are forced to own
a cell phone. Why do you think Ford just signed up for the Tesla
charging system?

But that is the beauty of the Tesla charging model. You can look at the
supercharger map AND the Plugshare map, because in a Tesla, you use them
both. And all the free and cheap level one and two stations as well. You
are not doing this in any other non-Tesla car. So what that really means

It is nice to have the variety. It will even be nicer when the car
makers get together with some companies that can provide charging
solutions, like the auto companies did with big oil early on. Right now
the non-Telsa public charging infrastructure in the US is in early days,

That's fine if you live in a big city or do lots of long-distance

Once you road trip in a Tesla, you won't ever consider another brand, at

superchargers are so fast, ubiquitous and quick, and the others are of
questionable reliability, and not always where you need them. We are

Peri, You might want to call Matt at Matts Import Haven, Clinton, Wa.,
tell him I sent you.
Matt (with a little help from me) has been reconditioning hybrid car
battery packs, and he is talking about getting into BEV packs also. With
a firm order, he might be convinced.

Right... so you said maybe a million times now. Don't worry it probably is
working on that.
Part of the problem we have here is the confusion between the difference of
Autopilot and FSD. While they
ral areas probably have more outages
but then they are left likely to buy an EV for any reason.

That seems like a quaint world view to me. "I don't need it so no one else does
either" .
We have lived in rural America for the past 40 years
Not sure why hydrogen is being seriously discussed. Plug Power has one
advocate on the list! Fool cells have been around now (including Plug's)
for many decades, and how many cars have the technology? Better yet, how
many refueling stations do we have in Washington State? Zero? Yep still
zero

I love the product Phil, even taken a test ride with Jay Donnoway on Bainbridge
Back in the day, you could fly into Sacramento airport and rent an EV1
for a week. It was pretty cool to show up at UC Davis in a production
battery electric. And the EV1 was quick. We would offer to drag race
(off road of course) faculty and surprise the hell out of them in the
results! Davis
