The company delivered all 50 cars planned for the first stage of the EV’s launch, and sale has officially begun in the South American country. This also implies that the 2020 Chevrolet Bolt EV will be available in Brazil, which boasts improved driving range over the 2019 edition. Recently launched in North America, the 2020 Bolt received a new-generation battery pack that is 10% more efficient thanks to a new composition of its chemical elements. Battery capacity has increased from 60 to 66 kWh and offers a range of up to 259 miles, 21 more than the in the 2017-to-2019 Bolt. The Chevrolet Bolt EV is offered in Brazil in Premier trim only, and has captured the admiration of local consumers thanks to its smart design, fun-to-drive factor and high level of standard features. In addition, being a zero-emission vehicle, it stands out for being technologically ahead of hybrids and conventional cars in that country. “The Bolt EV brings together features that symbolize the car of the future, and we were surprised by the initial consumer interest in the product. As a matter of fact, these are people seeking innovation, mobility and sustainability,” said GM South America Marketing Director, Hermann Mahnke, in a statement. GM is initially offering the Bolt EV in only 26 certified dealers in the following 12 cities across Brazil: São Paulo, Campinas, São José dos Campos, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Curitiba, Porto Alegre, Florianopolis, Joinville, Recife and Vitória. In every one of them, the automaker offers comprehensive after-sales service and maintenance for the vehicle, establishing itself in the EV segment with the country’s biggest dealer network. The first units of the 2020 Chevrolet Bolt EV will begin to trickle into the Brazilian market in February, when its MSRP will be announced. Chevy’s small electric crossover, which features an updated front fascia, can be painted in one of five exterior colors: Summit White, Switchblade Silver, Glory Red, Graphite Gray and Gold Black.
