Kia will introduce the car, at Jacobsen Salt Co.'s retail outlet, to the state where sales will commence as the 2016 models are rolled out. The Plug & Pinot-backed event [ http://www.plugandpinot.com/ ] takes place at 602 S.E. Salmon starting at 5:30 p.m. The Soul is Kia's first all-electric, zero-emissions car to be sold in the U.S. Oregon is one of five states in which the car will be sold. The reception, at which six Souls will be on hand to "experience," will also feature soul music from Speaker Minds and Will West & The Friendly Strangers. Eight Kia dealers are certified to sell the Soul EV in Oregon. The company also added four new chargers to Oregon's 81-DC fast-charger network. Those chargers can power up Soul's battery from empty to 80 percent in about 33 minutes.
