Many people believe oil is a couple of. If companies buy it is much more complicated than that with 100’s of companies drilling, storing, transporting, refining etc. certain segments aren’t profitable. I think refineries get subsidized but I’m just a casual observer  Sent from AT&T Yahoo Mail

To be (somewhat) fair, crude oil get's turned into more than just gas/diesel. Bunker fuel, tar, plastics, etc. Only about 65% or so becomes gas/diesel. My PGP public key: https://vanderwal.us/evdl_pgp.key July 17, 2021 9:14 AM, "Lawrence Rhodes via EV" wrote: > I divided the total subsides by

It always seemed a bit silly to me to heavily tax something that you are subsidizing with tax revenue. All it does is create needless bureaucracy. Then again, creating needless bureaucracy is what our government does best. My PGP public key: https://vanderwal.us/evdl_pgp.key July 16, 2021 8:2

Gas in California is 4-5 bucks a gallon.  If you don't like my math it s easy to Google your own numbers. I suspect I am pretty close. You have got to know there are people that spend their whole life making sure we stay addicted to fossil fuels. Same people make sure we can afford big Mac s. G

FACT: Variations in gas prices are driven by the world market, and are not dependent on U.S. government policies. This includes the existing subsidies for the oil and gas industry according to multiple studies that have found that repealing oil and gas subsidies would have only a marginal impact

Without subsidies gasoline would cost $12.75 a gallon. Biden is threatening to end them. It's time to question ownership of fossil fuel vehicles. Could be a gotcha coming for those unaware.  Lawrence Rhodes https://www.greenpeace.org/usa/ending-the-climate-crisis/everything-you-need-to-know-abo
