It looks like, in step nine you typed literally:
echo /lib > /etc/ld.so.conf.d/opensrf.confInstead of modifying this to read:
echo /openils/lib > /etc/ld.so.conf.d/opensrf.conf
That would be my guess. Try issuing the second command and restart
