We have a mix of separate records and single records. We use Aspen though
and if they are in separate records in Evergreen (and they group
correctly), Aspen shows the different editions to patrons who then can
place a hold for a specific copy.

Hi,
In C/W MARS a bibliographic record may contain items for paperback and for
hardcover. We have had some recommendations to separate paperback items
from hardcover items.
This is a change on the cataloging side but also with how holds would be
filled.
