In the quotes below, L refers to entelechies as souls. Only living being have souls of any type. From my own knoweledge of the history of philosophy the notion of entelechy seems similar to Schopenhauer's concept of WILL-- the "World as Will and Power "-- and -- Heaven forbid- Nietzsche's later concept of the Will to Power.
