Sorry but we don't request SSLv2, so I think it must really be your
server that is broken (either that or libnss is broken, but either way
it's not Evolution - and if it *is* libnss, then upgrade or something
because it works fine for me).

I think the point he was trying to make was for the dialog to match a
file of any case with the given input. It doesn't really matter how the
filesystem stores it if the dialog checks all the possibilities for
matches. To answer that question I don't think we have any plan to do
that. We will u

you should use fcntl locking and .lock locking. although packagers can
modify what locking is used in the binaries, to suit their local
conventions.

Uhm, except that the Unix filesystem is NOT case-insensitive. The
restriction is not in the file dialog, but rather the file system.

Was/is there a stable release in the 1.1.x series? Still using 1.0.8.
As I rely on evolution as my only mua I can't justify using beta. I can
justify time

I know this may seem a bit off topic, but is there anyway to use a case
insensitive file dialog in Evolution? I realize that it is the standard
gnome dialog, but it would be nice to be able to open it in a case
insensitive manner. I've noticed that I can do that with the kde dialogs

The first Beta release of Evolution 1.2 (aka version 1.1.1) has just
been released.
Evolution is the GNOME mail, calendar, and addressbook application.
Please note that this is an unstable BETA quality release. It is not
very well tested, and might cause loss of data. Before upgrading,

How do I save my preferred sort order of messages in mailboxes and
subsequent folders? I prefer the order to be newest at the top, and
grouped by thread. so threads that have new content are at the top of
the view. Then I would like to have this as MY default behavior
Subscribing to Mail fixed it. Two issues though:

my evolution is now running :), though I had to strain my brains a bit

I just emptied my trashcan and the mbox went from 72 MB to 0 B. But
mbox.ev-summary did not change (200 KB) and mbox.ibex also not (5 MB).

I am a moderator for another newsgroup. I would like to write a
perl-script to automate some tasks. The perl-script would not only read,
but also update the mbox. Is this possible with evolution running, or
should I disconnect evolution before writing to a mbox?

Hi,
I am on some rather heavy traffic mailing lists. Until a less painful

I use the keyboard shortcut key "n" to navigate to the next message.

No, thats a feature. Unless you enable 'show only subscribed folders',
the account will not be shown in the subscription dialogue.
Also note that since you have it turned off, the codepath is a bit
different, at least the server dialogue is different, so it is probably
unrelated.

I wonder if my problem with filters is related? I'm now using the 9/13
snapshot, and one account, on the same host, is using the UW IMAP
server.
I hadn't played with the subscription feature before, not knowing what
it was for. On the basis of this thread, I selected it from the Tools

Lotus Notes does archives too. As long as you dont mind

It may be that I'm being rubbish, or it may be that it's not there yet,
but I can't find a "collapse all" or "expand all" function for messages
that I am viewing in threaded format. This would be a really handy
button to have, since I'm in loads of mailing lists and I tend to want
