I actually believe that 'Expunge' or Ctrl+E does exactly this.
Not, it expunges on the current folder only.
And that was exactly what I wanted.

I am a moderator for another newsgroup. I would like to write a
perl-script to automate some tasks. The perl-script would not only read,
but also update the mbox. Is this possible with evolution running, or
should I disconnect evolution before writing to a mbox?
I just emptied my trashcan and the mbox went from 72 MB to 0 B. But
mbox.ev-summary did not change (200 KB) and mbox.ibex also not (5 MB).
Why is this?

As far as I know I have done everything to use a mailto link from Galeon
to Evolution. But when I click a mailto link I get the following error:
evolution-shell-WARNING **: CORBA exception

What is going wrong?
Unless replying the default from address is always the main account. In
Eudora I could make that if I would send from a certain mailfolder, that
the email got a different sender. I can not find this in Evolution. Are
I overlooking something?

Hi,
This morning I received a message from a professor at my university,
neither the sender nor the subject matched any filter so it was supposed
to be delivered to my INBOX.
However it was delivered to the folder where I keep the messages
