,such as postscript files,with an external application like gv)

I can not handle my attachments (such as postscript files) with an
external application (would like to use gv)
Starting gnomecc and selecting file types and programs I get the error
message file-types-capplet: command not found (I also tries to make
changes with
.gnome directory? It's not very large and it might help
if you renamed your current .gnome and then tried using mine.
Let me know if you want a tar file of my .gnome
