Okay, so here's a flurry of messages, and then I'll be quiet for a while...
As I said in another email, I'm really impressed with Evolution. I quit using Outlook months ago, because of its miserable IMAP functionality, and once again having contacts, email, calendar, and to-do list. However, there are a couple of features I notice immediately that are missing: 1. Category view, especially in the Contacts folder. In Outlook, you can assign contacts to multiple categories. Then, when you view the contacts list, you can group by category. You can drag contacts from one category to another (which adds the category to that contact, without removing the category), and you can cut & paste the list into Excel/run a mail merge on a category in Word. This is a great way to manage holiday cards, wedding invitations, etc., but is completely missing from Evolution. Categories are there, and editing them is the same as in Outlook--but you can't do anything with the categories. Is this feature planned for an upcoming release? Does anybody have an alternative way of selecting different subsets of your contacts and exporting them to a spreadsheet/other data source? 2. Drag a mail to Calendar/Tasks. In Outlook, you can drag an email and drop it on the Calendar to create a new appointment. The mail goes into the body (notes) of the appointment. Same thing for Tasks. These are great ways of getting all the details on your calendar, where they're easy to find on your Palm. Now, a question: Where can I learn more about publishing free/busy information to a web site? Is there a non-Exchange way of doing this? I'm really excited to use your product--overall, I like it more than Outlook. It's quicker, and runs on a better OS :-) Cheers, -- John Locke Owner, Freelock, LLC http://www.freelock.com _______________________________________________ evolution maillist - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/evolution
