What did you import them from? Perhaps the importer has bug with it.
FWIW, its possible to write a simple script to do this 'offline' anyway.

Just a query - the mark all as read feature - if I select a parent (top level) mail
folder in my folders list, that contains subfolders which have unread messages, and
then select Mark all as read, can this be applied to each sub folder?
