Interesting. So if I want to add a ctrl-shift-c hot key to the "mark all as read" label, how would I do that? I found a placeholder for the edit menu. I tried to replace that with an accel setting (basically copying the syntax from another menu item) and it broke the Edit pulldown menu completely.

Gtk used to allow this in the menus, but with GNOME2 it apparently no longer supports this. Also, Evolution uses Bonobo menus and that is why Evolution (as a GNOME 1.4 application) does not support this. If you want to customise your menu accels tho, you can by editing /usr/share/gnome/ui/evolutio

Actually while were on the hot key topic, would it be possible to allow hotkey customization? What would be really slick is if you could pull open a menu, mouse-over an item to highlight it, then just hit the hotkey combo you want and it adds/updates the hotkey for that item. I've seen this done be

Yeah, that works much better than ctrl-a-k-i. Monte On Fri, 2002-10-25 at 12:51, Jeffrey Stedfast wrote: > Perhaps try using Edit->Mark All As Read??? > > Alt-E E > > Jeff > > On Fri, 2002-10-25 at 13:40, Monte Ohrt wrote: > > Yes, Ctrl-I is broken for me too. > > > > But, the Ctrl-A-K-I comb

Yes, Ctrl-I is broken for me too. But, the Ctrl-A-K-I combination isn't very efficient, especially if you have hundreds of e-mails in your Inbox. The act of selecting, marking read, deselecting all takes unecessary time to process. A hot key for "mark all as read" should NOT be programmatically t

Well, it /should/ be as easy as Ctrl-A, Ctrl-K, Ctrl-I. But I just noticed that Ctrl-I (and the whole Invert Selection functionality) is broken. IMHO there are much more useful things for the coders to be doing than combining three simple shortcuts into one. Like, for instance, fixing Edit->Inve

I'm not sure where to ask for feature requests, so I'll try the mailing list. It would be nice to add a hotkey for edit->mark all as read It is tedious to select all / mark selected / deselect all, and wasted cpu cycles IMHO. Thanks! Monte ___ evolut
