Do you do "cvs update -Pd" ? Also, check for conflicts during checkout,
and simply delete any files that have conflicts. Then re-do the update.

Here's a fun trick to crash the composer:
place the cursor in the test somewhere. Hold down shift and click
backwards in the text. Click somewhere else in the text. Boom.
