There *is* no "incorrect" format for From lines. It's not specified,
and just about every mailer does
Might be a new bug, i'm pretty sure it works with pine/elm that I have.

The problem is calls to various utf8 operations in GtkHTML (specifically
in htmltext.c) on non-utf8 text. It looks like this code needs to be
peppered with some g_utf8_validate() calls...
