I'm fairly certain that Evolution 1.0.x has been successfully built on HPUX 11i, although it required numerous patches to 1.0.8 and I'm not sure if those patches were ever committed to the evolution-1-0-branch or not.
a number of the issues were fixed in the 1.2 branch though, but I'm not sure if they all were or not. I guess the only way to tell would be to try.
