Thanks for the replies but apparently it wasn't an Evolution issue.
(Which I suspected from the beginning. Evolution is great.)
I don't know what changed but today everything is working as expected.
Sorry for cluttering up the list with a non-evolution issue.

I'm having an issue accessing my Gmail via POP3. I've been using
Evolution with 2 gmail accounts via POP/SMTP for several years without
an issue (it's been an overall great experience coming from Outlook on
Windows, but suddenly a couple of weeks ago things started to be slow
and/or

experiencing long delays and timeouts while accessing email from the

My emails are stored in my home directory as
~/.local/share/evolution/mail/local/./cur/
For example "Test.pst" I sent to you shows as a folder under
"On This

Never mind. I just figured out the issue.
For emails that are newly received directly from the server, there is
no problem.
The emails that have a problem as I have described are ones that I have
imported from an Outlook .pst file.
Any idea how to fix the formatting on those?

I have looked through the help section, Googled the issue and changed
various settings on the HTML messages tab of Mail preferences. All to
no avail.
I haven't found anything in the help sections that discusses having
both plain text AND HTML showing, only one OR the other.
