the backup doesn't save remote server local cache, thus if you've for
example an IMAP account, then

I do this quite often. Easiest way is the do an Evolution "Backup" on your old
system, copy that file to the new computer and then do an Evolution "Restore".
You'll have to reenter your account passwords but that's about it.
