Position:Infrastructure Project Manager
Location:Houston,TX
Duration:11 months
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, MIS
or similar area of study
5 to 8 years of previous experience
5+ years experience serving as Project Manager and leader on
enterprise level projects with high visibility
Extensive experience leading infrastructure-related projects such as
data center build-out, network upgrade, server and desktop
deployments, core IT application deployments (email, anti-virus, etc)
Experience managing over $1 million projects
Extensive experience managing multiple projects, in various stages of
the Project Life Cycle, at one time
Significant experience with PMBOK methodology
Experience with Agile Project Management methodologies
A leader in aiding in definition of systems strategy, developing
systems requirements, designing and prototyping, testing, training,
defining support procedures, and implementing practical business
solutions under multiple deadlines.
Strong ability to interface with senior-level stakeholders in both
Information Technology and the business units to partner on project
scope, risk mitigation and issue resolution.
Understands all aspects of the IT Governance and reporting
Superb written and verbal communication skills as well as listening
skills
Outstanding teamwork skills
Keen attention to detail
Demonstrated analytical and qualitative abilities
PMP certification
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to
perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other minor
duties may be assigned and may vary by department.
Own, lead and drive all project activities through the Project Life
Cycle to ensure successful and quality on-time, on-budget delivery of
their project(s).
Clearly communicate the business case to project team to assist with
decision making and prioritization; keeps business case front and
center to drive decisions.
Main point of contact with technology owner, infrastructure engineers,
Technology Advisory Board, project team, IT Audit, Information Safe
Guards, senior leadership on project status, issues and risks
Create and maintain project plans and responsible for financial
forecasting and tracking
Day-to-day tracking of project team activities
Status reporting and progress communication to team members, IT
management and business partners.
Issue and risk identification, mitigation and, if necessary,
escalation
Tracking and driving closure of action items such as following up/
facilitating capital purchases, SOW approvals, and contract
finalization
Interface with other IT and business organizations to reach agreement
on scope, obtain resources as required and ensure proper preparedness
Keep project financials up-to-date
