Kindly rush me resume on ve...@t2mconsulting.com and you can reach me on 732-385-5020 *** 102 *Reply only to **ve...@t2mconsulting.com <ve...@t2mconsulting.com> * *Position: Linux System Administrator(this is a senior role)* *Location: NewYork City, NY* *Duration: Long Term Contract* *Mode of Interview: Face to Face only * *Job Description:* · The candidate will be responsible for running and maintaining the Linux and storage assets in these labs, installing, configuring, administering and optimizing services for the benefit of our key clients, as well as working on brand-new technologies and concepts to support research and engineering groups. *Skills Required* · As this role is very technical and requires a high degree of complex stakeholder management, the skills of the individual are paramount to the success of the role. · The ideal candidate will have a deep technical background, with an understanding of the industry, and skills in the development of infrastructure strategies in an environment that may often have conflicting business and technical requirements *Required Technical Skills (all necessary)* · Expert level Red Hat Enterprise Linux production system admin experience in large-enterprise, service-provider or web-scale computing environments, including clustering, volume management, file systems, configuring network services · Solaris production system admin experience in large-enterprise, service-provider or web-scale computing environments, including clustering, volume management, file systems, configuring network services – may be historical knowledge (e.g. Solaris 9, 10) · Detailed knowledge of TCP/IP and services (e.g. NFS, NIS) · Experience with NIS, Kerberos, AD, LDAP integration. · Knowledge of additional versions of Linux/Unix (e.g. AIX, OpenSolaris, Ubuntu, CoreOS), with ability to compare and contrast styles of packaging, different strengths of each distro · Strong experience shell scripting in Perl, Python or Ruby on Bash and Korn shells · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including skills to take on new technologies · Strong troubleshooting experience, engaging Enterprise Infrastructure SMEs as necessary · Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision despite rapidly changing priorities · Experience with change management processes and providing end-user support *Additional Optional Skills (preferred to have at least 1 or 2 of these)* · Investment Banking IT support experience · KVM, or ESX, and related virtualization management administration · Network device management (switches, routers, firewalls) · Programming knowledge (e.g. Java, C, C++) · Technical qualifications of new hardware or drivers into an OS build · Open source application tools such as Perforce, Git, Jenkins, Eclipse, etc. · Windows Server administration · Providing support for research using high-performance computing. · Batch systems and schedulers.
