I am trying to use COUNTIF for calculating the row count for the below
condition.

here in this formula i wanted to get the range of values from the
excel sheet look up column so that i dont need to change the formula

Two things:-
1) You can give only one criteria in COUNTIF. (For Excel 2003 and lower
version)
2) If you want to increase the calculation range, you can use OFFSET
function in Define- Name option.
For multiple criterias, you can use SUMPRODUCT or ARRAY functionality to
work more

Suggestion:-
If you do not have the backup of that file, then you should go and download
/ purchase some file recovery software and that will recover almost all the
data leaving some data fragments behind.

I have this cell where the values filled can be - 0 or 1 or 2 or 3. I want

Dear Anish,
I dont think any lookup formula would help you in this case because
the lookup value needs to be unique and appearing just once on the
table array or else excel will consider only the first index found on
the list.

Unfortunately, The custom number format can take only up to two
conditions and you have three conditions in your requirement. Also,
Conditional formatting may not work as it displays colors,borders and
patterns.

Hi Everyone...I have a list of names (column A) and in column B I want
a formula to flag all duplicate items in column A. I was using the
formula =IF(COUNTIF($A$2:$A$10,A2)1,1,0) where 1 would flag me to a
possible duplicte (i.e. I could filter on it).
The data in column A is causing problems.
I am having a recurring problem with the default character set in
Excel spreadsheets. Without apparent cause, the keyboard characters
are changed. Where I would normally get a / I get a strange
character. Double quotations become single quotes. The only way I have
found to fix it is to close the
