Dear all, I'm really hoping you can help me or at least answer a question that I have regarding macros and how clever they can really be.
Take a look at the sample data below (an imagine it in an excel worksheet): Person ID Learner Course title Date Duration (hrs) 123 Ann Make up 01/01/2011 1 123 Ann Singing 02/03/2011 5 123 Ann Painting 05/05/2011 7 456 Bill Singing 02/03/2011 5 456 Bill Dancing 11/05/2011 7 I want to run a mail merge in word that will produce a certificate for each separate learner, listing all of the courses they have successfully completed in the year to date. At the moment the only way I think I can do this is to move all of the courses for a given learner on to one row e.g. put all of Ann's courses side by side and name the columns course title 1, course title 2 and so that each row stands as one record and therefore one certificate. Is there any way that I could write a macro to automatically complete this cutting and pasting process for me? i.e. find some kind of formula that would recognise the person ID number, conduct a comparison and paste all entries with the same ID number ont to the same row? Any thoughts on this would be very very welcome. Thanks. -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some important links for excel users: 1.
