Role: CMDB Manager Location: Plano, TX Job Description: * CMDB Manager * ServiceNow Platform/System Administration * Configuration Management Database (CMDB) functionality and concepts * ITIL and IT Service Management (ITSM) functionality and concepts * Configuration Item attributes and relationships * Identifying data, tool, and process gaps, and working on solutions to ensure continuous improvement of the CMDB in support of our processes and controls. * Typical user functionality of the CMDB * Have a broad knowledge of asset/CI discovery tools * Have experience with CMDB integrations from a variety of data sources Responsibilities: * Maintain accuracy of the Enterprise Configuration Management Database (CMDB), assist in improving quality of data in the CMDB and assist in the cleanup/update of Configuration Item (CI) attributes in the CMDB. * Support Configuration Item review attestations and audits to ensure accuracy and completeness of configuration items maintained within the CMDB (both discoverable and undiscoverable) * Accountable for coordinating service delivery for our Enterprise Configuration Management Database * Accountable to ensure that the day to day operational responsibilities for the associated Service Management process area are executed. * Working with stakeholders including internal customers (aka process owners) and vendors to understand challenges and gain consensus on improved system and operational solutions * Configure and build reports, dashboards, CMDB Health view and Data Certification to manage data compliance and maintain the health of CMDB. * Establish ServiceNow configuration database as the source of truth for CI information and ensure users and CPI processes have access to accurate, timely and actionable data. * Apply standard methodologies for organizing and discovering complex infrastructure environments to place them with business services into the CMDB, making valuable contributions to ITSM processes, Service Owners and customers. * Understand concepts of asset reconciliation; ensure asset to CI relationships, asset categorization, asset types and data rules.
